Halawa Neighborhood Security Watch Rises to Action
Monday, May 10, 2010
Forest City Residential Management (FCRM) thanks everyone that took part in the Halawa Neighborhood Security Watch Meeting on May 3rd. The Halawa Community showed up in record numbers, showing great interest in building the Halawa Neighborhood Security Watch. FCRM considered the meeting to be a success because of the 30% participant increase. The Neighborhood Security Watch (NSW) is sponsored by the HPD in partnership with Halawa Residents, FCRM, and Master Chief Todd Thom, Military Housing Liaison. “The purpose of NSW is to create a non-confrontational community involvement program in which our valued residents really become the eyes and ears the community. This program provides training and appropriate resources so residents recognize suspicious and criminal activity and use proper resources for remedy of those situations.” said Kari Diaz, General Manager. The next step will be the phase one training conducted by the HPD. This training will give the residents the tools to recognize signs of criminal and suspicious activity. With the implementation of the Halawa NSW the residents will continue to make a difference that will help to keep the community safe.
